Your colors. Your choices.
Privacy policy
Effective October 24, 2026 · OverProtect LLC
ColorMimic helps you create palettes from photos. This policy explains how OverProtect LLC handles information in the ColorMimic app and at colormimic.com.
Creating and saving on your device
Photo sampling, color editing, and locally saved palettes are processed on your device. Saved palettes may include the source photo. Your device or operating-system backup settings may include this local data. In the web creator, your selected photo is processed in your browser. We do not upload your original photo separately.
You can create palettes and share an image through your device without a ColorMimic account. Any app or service you choose from your device’s share sheet handles that image under its own policy.
Accounts and online publishing
Signing in is required only to publish online. Clerk provides account authentication and processes your email address, authentication information, and session data. ColorMimic uses your account identifier and verification status to associate published palettes with you and prevent abuse.
When you publish, we store the rendered palette image, title, five color values, chosen layout, public creator name, account identifier, and expiration time. If you choose a layout containing your photo, that photo appears within the uploaded image. Your creator name, image, title, and colors are public to anyone with the link; your account email is not displayed on the palette page.
Storage and retention
Online palette links expire after 90 days. You may revoke a link earlier using your shared-link controls. Expired links stop serving the palette, and stored share objects are removed through our storage lifecycle process. Copies downloaded or shared by other people are outside our control.
Locally saved palettes remain until you remove them or clear the app’s data. Browser storage remembers shared links and may temporarily hold an editing draft while you sign in. Clearing browser storage may remove that local list.
Account information is retained while your account remains active. To request deletion of your account and associated published content, contact support@colormimic.com. Revoking your links before deleting your account allows you to remove them directly. Support correspondence and limited records may be retained where needed to resolve requests, protect the service, or meet legal obligations.
Security and service operation
Cloudflare hosts the website and shared images. Technical information, including IP addresses and request information, may be processed for delivery, security, troubleshooting, and rate limits. Account-linked publishing counters are used to prevent abuse. Counters for previous UTC days are scheduled for removal hourly. We disable optional application request logs and traces; our service providers may still retain information needed to operate and secure their services.
Clerk uses session technologies to keep you signed in and protect account access, including IP-derived approximate session location. We disable optional Clerk telemetry in the web creator. ColorMimic does not use advertising trackers or sell your photos. Optional Apple Intelligence naming is performed using supported on-device capabilities; we do not send your photo to ColorMimic’s servers to generate a name.
Service providers
We use Cloudflare for hosting, storage, security, and support email forwarding; Clerk for authentication; and our email provider to handle support messages. These providers may process information in countries other than yours. Learn more in Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Clerk’s privacy policy.
Your choices and requests
You can edit or delete locally saved palettes, revoke shared links, and choose whether to include a photo in a published image. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information. Email support@colormimic.com to make a request. We may need to verify account ownership before acting.
